Como bien sabéis (¿porque lo sabéis, verdad?), antes de la Gran Guerra contra el Caos, la práctica de la magia estaba prohibida y perseguida en el Imperio. No fue hasta que se desató ese aciago conflicto que los humanos se dieron cuenta que más les valía dominar los Vientos de la Magia si no querían luchar contra la oscuridad sin una de las grandes bazas en batalla como es la magia. En el poco espacio de tiempo que transcurrió entre que los altos elfos acudieron al auxilio del Viejo Mundo y que las fuerzas de Magnus se enfrentaron al Caos en Kislev, Teclis reunió a un pequeño grupo de humanos y les enseñó los principios de este arte. Hoy os presentamos a dos de estos magos con trasfondo propio que forjaron entonces su leyenda en los anales del Imperio.

As you well know (because you know it, doesn't it?), before the Great War against Chaos, the practice of magic was forbidden and persecuted in the Empire. It was not until that unfortunate conflict that the humans realized that was a good idea to learn the Winds of Magic if they want to fight properly against the dark gods. During the short time between high elves came to the aid of the Old World and Magnus' forces clashed with Chaos in Kislev, Teclis assembled a small group of humans and taught them the basis of this art. Today we present to you two of these firsts wizards with their own background, who forged their legend in the annals of the Empire.
De entre estos primeros aprendices de la magia, el más destacado fue Volans, quién posteriormente se convirtió en el primer Patriarca Supremo de los Colegios de la Magia. Quizá no os suene su trasfondo, pero aquellos que coleccionáis Imperio, seguro que os suenan los objetos mágicos el "Báculo de Volans" o el "Anillo de Volans". Bien, pues nos referimos a ESTE Volans.
Volans se especializó en la magia de la luz, y así hemos querido representar tanto su miniatura como su pintado, combinando blancos, azules claros y dorados.
Between those firsts wizards apprentices, Volans was the best. He was him who later became the first Supreme Patriarch of the Schools of Magic. Maybe his background is not well-known at all, but those of you who collect Empire, surely know about "Stuff of Volans" or the "Ring of Volans". Well, we are talking about THIS Volans.
Volans specialized in the light magic, and we wanted to represent both his miniature and his painting on that way, using white, light blue and gold colours.
En cambio, nuestro siguiente protagonista tiene una historia menos ordinaria. Frederik von Tarnus (a veces escrito Frederick) era el capitán del famoso regimiento de los grandes espaderos de Carroburgo años antes de la Gran Guerra. Con el paso de los años Frederik se dio cuenta que gozaba de una conexión especial con la magia, y más concretamente con la piromancia. Como en esa época la magia estaba perseguida por los cazadores de brujas, y Frederik no podía controlar su canalización, pensó que lo mejor era abandonar su cómoda posición y retirarse en solitario como ermitaño o viajero.
Con el tiempo, Frederik aprendió por sí mismo a controlar rudimentariamente sus aptitudes mágicas. Y luego estalló la guerra. Consciente de que sus habilidades, tanto mágicas como marciales, podían ser de gran ayuda al ejército imperial, decidió volver de su exilio y unirse a las filas de Magnus el Piadoso. Este trasfondo es que hemos querido plasmar en la miniatura. Se trata de un hombre de gran envergadura, de edad avanzada, ataviado con la armadura y los colores de Carroburgo, como corresponde al antiguo capitán de ese regimiento de élite. Pero también lleva una espada y un báculo en llamas, y algunas pequeñas bolsas propias de un mago-guerrero itinerante.
Our next character has a less ordinary story. Frederik von Tarnus (sometimes written Frederick) was the captain of the famous regiment of Carroburg greatswords some years before the Great War. Over the years Frederik realized that he had a special connection with magic, and more specifically with pyromancy. Since at that time magic was being pursued by witch hunters, and Frederik could not control its channeling, he consider better to abandon his comfortable position and retreat alone as a hermit or traveler.
Over time, Frederik learned by himself a rudimentarily control of his magical abilities. And then, the war broke out. Realizing that his abilities, both magical and martial, could be of great help to the imperial army, he decided to return from his exile and join the army of Magnus the Pious. This background is what we wanted to capture in the miniature, a wizard-warrior. He is a man of great magnitude, more old than young, dressed in the armour and the colours of Carroburg, as corresponds to the old captain of that elite regiment. But he also wears a sword and a burning staff, and some small bags.
